The Starting Line
Courses available in your account
Your ePrep account will include access to all of your ePrep
courses. In other words, your email address can support multiple
ePrep courses. Each ePrep course includes everything you’ll
need to maximize your test score, including printable practice
tests, online score sheets, and detailed video explanations for
every test question and related subject lessons.
Selecting a course to begin
When you first log in to your account, one of your ePrep courses (e.g., SAT, ACT, etc.) will be preselected and identified in the upper right of your Home Room page. You may toggle over to a different course by clicking the downward pointing arrow (to the right of the current course name) and selecting a new course from the drop-down menu. Selecting a different course will cause ePrep to load a new Home Room, Exam Room, and Study Hall, as appropriate. However, your work in the WordSmith vocabulary section is common across all of your ePrep courses. (If you have only purchased one ePrep course, the name of that course only will appear in the upper right corner of your Home Room page.)
How your course is structured
All ePrep courses feature four (4) key sections or tabs. The following is a brief overview of each tab and its purpose.
Home Room
The Home Room tab serves as the main dashboard, or command center,
for each course. Within the Home Room, you can set up a study
schedule, download and print tests, review assignments and
recommended study lessons, view progress reports, create parent
accounts, and update account settings generally.
Exam Room
The Exam Room tab hosts all online grading and video review
features. From the main Exam Room grid, you can select a specific
practice section for grading and video review. For your
convenience, a preset timer is available for use during offline
testing.
Study Hall
The Study Hall tab displays all of the remedial data collected from
your completed practice tests. Your Study Hall is updated every
time you complete a practice section. Study Hall lessons are
designed to help you learn topics you might have missed in school
and proven test-taking strategies.
WordSmith
The WordSmith tab offers an engaging vocabulary tool and includes
nearly 1,500 common SSAT, SAT, and ACT words. A large and varied
working vocabulary is helpful on standardized tests, in school, and
in life beyond. You are encouraged to use WordSmith weekly, if not
daily, throughout your ePrep subscription period. Vocabulary
building is best done incrementally over time. After sorting words
from an ePrep list, you can review words using online flashcards
and test your knowledge by taking computer generated online
quizzes.
Create, view, and edit schedules
ePrep allows you to set up a schedule for each course included in your subscription. A study schedule will help you stay on track and achieve your test-day goals. With a few mouse clicks, you can vary the start date, test date, number of practice tests, and subject areas to be included. Once your schedule has been created, ePrep will provide you with a detailed calendar of assignments. If you want, ePrep will also send you email alerts to help you manage your busy schedule and stay on track.
Follow the steps below to create your personalized study schedule:
- After logging in, select a course by clicking on the downward
pointing arrow next to the current course name (in the upper right
corner of your Home Room page) and pick a course from the drop-down
menu – for example, ACT, PLAN, PSAT, SAT or SSAT. (If you
have only purchased one ePrep course, the name of that course only
will appear in the upper right corner of your Home Room
page.)
- Once you've selected a course, click on Edit Schedule under the
heading Assignments on the left side of the Home Room page
- Select a test date from the drop-down menu
- Select the number of practice test from the drop-down
menu
- Check the subject areas you want to include in your study
program (uncheck those you do not want to include)
- Select a study start date from the list provided
- Finally, click on Create Schedule to create your personal study schedule
For a calendar view of your schedule, click on View Course Schedule under the heading Assignments on the left side of the Home Room page.
Once a schedule is established for your course, your Home Room page for that course will display your test date, the number of days until the test, and any upcoming or late assignments based on your schedule. You may edit and revise your schedule at any time simply by selecting Edit Schedule under the heading Assignments on the left side of the Home Room page.
Account options - parents, alerts, reports
The Home Room tab of each course provides a quick snapshot of
your study progress. In addition to the test-date countdown and
assignment information, the Home Room tab will display your
WordSmith progress and top recommended study lessons based on your
practice test performance.
Account options, email alerts, and performance reports can also be accessed from within the Home Room tab of each ePrep course. The following is a brief description of each option:
